What happens when you take a 6 week old Chow Chow puppy and jam him into a light booth? You get this picture…possibly the cutest post ever! This is Rubio…he belongs to one of the girls who works at Sentry.

Found the last catalog I did…a few of them actually. They were in the dumpster out back. Don’t ask what I was doing there! I thought it might be good to post so I have a record of it. I have a back-up of the source files, but most of the extra outdated catalogs were tossed a while ago. I don’t know where these came from. In the background you can see instructions for a talking clock we were working on today while listening to ASCII Disco & Big Black. TGIFF fools!

The package in the background of this photo is the original that I created 4 years ago. It’s sold here in the USA, Canada and South America under the Sentry brand at places like Walmart & Bed, Bath & Beyond. The package in the foreground of is from South Africa…and it’s an unauthorized knock-off. Same product…same package…It looks like the factory bootlegged my art! What the fuck!  

The only reason we found out about this is that a container of the wrong goods showed up at our warehouse. Here’s the new package that we’ve been selling for a few months. I designed it when we found out about the red box being copied. Problem solved…for now.

Last year we took a few weeks to work with Nimock’s North Jersey branch to redesign the Sentry Industries trade show booth from the ground up. This booth gets used a couple of times a year for the bigger trade shows we attend…including International Houseware and CES. It was designed in such a way as to facilitate the easy addition of new graphics…seriously extending the overall lifespan of the booth.

Trade show banner used to update the booth we designed last to advertise our new Metalix metal in-ear buds which are color matched for iPods and other popular MP3 players…taste the rainbow.

I made these icons a while back and have used them in various packages that I’ve done. They’re very simplistic…but I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of them. Over the years they’ve ended up in the hands of a few less-than-reputable Chinese factories and printers. I have since seen them reused in many Chinese brochures, packages and websites without permission. I take it as a compliment…but it still kind or annoys me. I’ll post them as I come across them…stay tuned.
